Monday, Monday, Oh Monday, you came too fast this time. I was having the most relaxing and slow Mother’s day weekend and then I woke up to another busy work week. How did your Mother’s day weekend go? Apart from our simple-and-nothing-fancy-Mother’s-day-weekend-celebration, TGL and I had some serious talking due to some changes that would happen towards the end of this year. First of, we need to move to a bigger space because my folks are coming in Fall (confirmed!) and they are spending 6 months with us. Our 2-bedroom apartment is too small to accommodate not only them but also the rest of my extended and immediate family as we plan to celebrate my Dad’s big 75th birthday here. We are the designated host and even if it would be a tad bit of work for us to move to a new place, we welcome this as it is only once that my dad turn 75. Along these family reunions and vacation plannings, TGL’s bestfriend made us consider to invest on a home here despite the fact that we are not settling here for good, we plan to move out of a State where there are more relatives and friends. Of course, he made us learn about Aurora loan where he gets most of his mortgages information. He already has 3 houses here, 2 in Illinois and a newly-bought home in Orange County, California, so he promised to walk us through buying a house. Upon talking to our real estate agents and accountant, we were not really surprised that we were paying even more than a month’s worth of mortgage in this apartment rental fees. We know for a fact that this apartment is quite a luxury because of the high ratings of the school district which is just less than 5 minutes walk. It made us really think about our monthly apartment rental fees that do not go anywhere, investment-wise. But on the other hand, it would be so hard to commit ourselves to buying a house here when we know that in 2 years time, we are going to move out of this State. In the end, TGL and I agreed on renting a 2-storey townhome by the time our apartment lease contract ends in September.
Then, I mentioned before that we have been tagging along TGL’s short business trips during weekends ever since this year started. He is the Business Development Manager of their company and there were talks of venturing in other cities and even State which TGL will spearhead. I prayed and prayed that God will guide us on this decision and alas, Divine Providence came upon us. TGL, along with the big bosses decided to hold off this new business venture within 2 more years. This would mean that I will not give up my job and there are no major movement and changes at least in a couple of years which I highly like. You see, praying is definitely a way of life for me. Sometimes, this life’s struggles and ambiguities are just to major for me (or us) to handle and when that happens, I rely on Him and put my trust completely on Him.
