This will probably be my last blog entry until Easter Sunday. I have decided to join the 7 days Fasting and Prayer by Bo Sanchez. I’ve realized that more than ever, now is the most opportune time when I needed to keep my focus and spend more time with God. You see, I have done this annually since year 2010 and I cannot tell you how much Fasting changed my life. It is such a powerful act of sacrifice and prayer that I have become witness to so many of God’s miracles. From all of the Fasting & Prayer Guidelines I have read and seen, Bo Sanchez’s offers the simplest. For that alone, I love it. It speaks right through my heart as if it were my own words.

For this year, I have decided to go on a liquid fasting: Fresh Veggies/Fruit Juices and Soups + Avoid unnecessary time spent online meaning, ZERO Social Networking sites: IG, FB & Twitter. Until then, I wish you all the most blessed Holy Week.

    Dearest Lord,
    Teach me to be generous.
Teach me to serve you as I should:
To give and not to count the cost,
To fight and not to heed the wounds,
To toil and not to seek for rest,
To labor and ask not for reward,
Save that of knowing that I do
    Your most Holy Will.

Every year, I make sure to sacrifice something that I really REALLY like or takes most of my leisure time (or say holding off to buy jamhub or stuff obsession) as my Lenten Sacrifice. This year, I chose to give up Instagram for 40 days. I have been so attached to this social networking app that giving it up would mean more time with God. Surprisingly, it was an easy sacrifice so I wanted to do some more.

I’ve been thinking long and hard what I can give more. Then, it dawned on me that for the longest time, I have been trying my best to be the Proverbs 31 woman especially now that I get so burned out with the many roles I do as a wife, mother, sister, daughter, colleague etc… So starting today, I will make a conscious effort to be the Proverbs 31 woman, my lifetime icon and hopefully inculcate her habits for the rest of my life.

What started out to be a challenging month (August 1st) seems to be the month filled with good news. I had a very stressful August 1 at work, too stressful that I had to research on BSA Compliance and other legalities of incorporation which were not actually part of my job. I had no choice but to do the extra mile before the big boss finds out and the issue might bounce back on me. Thank goodness we got everything resolved before the issue gets out of hand and we are back to the normal grind. And I am back to counting my happy thoughts this week.

    Pure Awesomeness! #SummerOlympics #London

    1. Summer London Olympics. I do not understand the comparison with China Olympics Opening Ceremony. Of course, there will be differences. But I really find this year’s Olympic Opening Ceremony very classy, tastefully done, unique and educational/informative. I’ll keep my arguments to myself but I want you to read this.
    2. Early Payday means zero debts and bills paid weeeee!
    3. Detox Juicing every Dinner. Then will try to detox for straight 3 days.
    4. 1st weight goal of 115 lbs reached!
    5. Froyo + Shake Shack burgers ftw!
    6. Cherries & Home-Made Banana Cake!
    7. Unwavering Faith and Time Spent on Prayers.
    8. Inspiring Videos & Photos all over the world-wide-web.

UntitledI have been participating in the Wednesday Happy Thoughts meme for almost 3 years now or even longer. I started doing it in my old blog which shall not be named. The meme has been coined by one of my dearest blogging friends and I just like how it kept me reminded of all the good things and blessings that come our way. However, I will stop naming my list Wednesday Happy Thoughts, because I always fail to blog this meme on a Wednesday. Instead, I shall start this series of entries called, My GRATITUDE LIST, which I can write about anytime of the week.

Like what I have said in my previous entry, July has been such a crazy month but yesterday, the moment was so surreal, I could not thank the Lord enough for this 2nd chance in life, more on this later. Yes! 2 is my favorite number of the year. Let’s proceed with My Gratitude List:

    1. I’m just 2 lbs away from my weight goal!
    2. I’m back to size 2! Did a little shorts-shopping for our Florida trip and was so surprised that even size 2 is kinda lose on me, weeee! Thank God, 4 months of hardwork and discipline paid off!
    3. Again, I am thankful for my Discipline, Hardwork, Focus, Self-Control and Patience.
    4. Of course, my Faith.
    5. I am thankful for yesterday, July 18, 2012. My Breast Lump was found to be benign after a series of Mammo, Ultrasound and needle/biopsy. You see, I have undergone excisional biopsy when I was 17 on my right breast and then another one when I was 18 on my left breast. I was so brave back then and was even watching the doctors open my breasts and take out the cysts. Everything was benign, they were all just fibrous cysts. Two years ago, I felt a lump on my left breast, it was huge but not too hard, still, I can feel it. I avoided ultrasound for those 2 years because my OB-gyne would say it is moving/movable, it is not hard (like what most cancerous lumps feel like), and it is well-defined, meaning roundish or oval. She would also tell me that it is normal for women under 40 to have occasional cysts. Still, a lump is a lump and I was paranoid. I have a kid and husband to think about now. Finally, I faced my fear and the agony of guessing the past 2 years was now backed up with mammography and ultrasound images plus the needle/biopsy result, it came out benign and was merely a Fibroadenoma. It may disappear in the years to come. But it is a must for me (like any other woman) to have my breast examination every year with an Ultrasound or Mammography. Thank you Lord!
    6. Healthy Living. I shall continue what I have started. Even if I wanted to celebrate yesterday over a bag of Cheetos, I decided not to and I feel great for not giving in.
    7. VOXER and my dear, dear friends!
    8. Credit cards. Making money management more convenient + booking travel deals.
    9. My thick but well-groomed eyebrows which I did with my own tweezerman.
    10. Confirmed booking for my folks’ travel.
    11. Amazing Spiderman in 3D date with my boys.
    12. Crabshack Resto discovery.
    13. Healthy Boys.
    14. A more relaxed outlook in life.
    15. F.A.M.I.L.Y.
