I thought I would never say this especially since I’ve been there 3 times and the most recent was just last July. But yes, I AM MISSING the New York City!
That’s all where I want to go right now. My hormones are killing me, I’ve been food binging nonstop and then randomly surfing on mundane stuff such as dvd cases, yikes!
They are making me impatient, cranky, out of control and to say the least, I can throw a feat on anyone who would block my way. So yes, stay away from me first and let writing be my outlet to release this BVs. Insert: I got hit by Friday the 13th superstition bug
I envy a friend who is currently in the Big Apple celebrating her birthday with the loves of her life. We originally planned on celebrating our birthdays together, but my bestfriend came to visit last Summer for 2 weeks and our vacation work-leaves are all used up. Bleh!
So for now, some reminiscing would help me.
The first time I visited NYC was 3 years ago. I was focused on the mini-reunion with good old friends rather than seeing NYC the first time. We had a horrible bus trip from D.C. to NYC but as soon as I saw my friends, I’ve completely forgotten about the hard commute. Everything about NYC is new to me, took lots of beautiful photos because I just cannot stopped myself from capturing the beauty that is NYC. I even considered on moving there, first impression lasts right? However, the trip was cut short and not well-planned so we missed a lot of places. After all, we were there to meet up and catch up with friends, the sightseeing was just a bonus.
My second trip to NYC was with family. It was a first time for my brother and my parents who were here for the holidays while my sister-in-law had visited NYC when she was just a kid. It was a tiring and very cold fully-packed 3-day trip. We hit almost every tourist trap-landmarks/destination so that my folks wouldn’t missed out as this would might be their first and last NYC trip. Autumn in New York is really a must to every travel-whore.
Now, this is the most recent. We followed almost the same itinerary we did when we visited NYC with my folks and siblings. It was a memorable one because never in my life did I ever imagine I could visit NYC with my bestfriend for almost 3 decades along with our young families. It was a bonus that finally on my 3rd NYC Visit, I got to see the FlatIron Building. And then, there’s the subway commute that TGL and I already know by heart.
If you think I’ve had enough after 3 visits, nope. There is just too much to do, to many places to visit and to many restaurants to try out when visiting NYC. So TGL and I made a vow that before moving to the West Coast next year or the year after next, we will visit New York perhaps for a week this time. Visiting museums such as Guggenheim, MoMA or MET will top our itinerary as well as dining on the most exotic restaurants and spending a rooftop dinner. I can’t wait!
