If you read my 12 goals in 2012 entry, you would notice that we have plans of relocating and moving to the West Coast. This was primarily based on our year last year. Not that we were having difficulties career-wise but more of, we wanted to be closer to our family and close friends. But of course, at the back of our minds, we are still a bit apprehensive because of the economic-stature in that side which up to now is still a little bit unstable. Unlike where we are from, employment rate numbers are improving and in fact, this State we live in is listed as one of the most stable economies and one of the best places to raise a family, not to mention, has good education system.
As of today, we have everything in place, financially, a good Life Insurance for everyone in the family with the best coverage. This, we got after so much researching and comparing various online quotes. Two cars, a complete home furniture, a reasonable amount of savings etc… but we could not get a house yet because we are still unsure where to settle down. We wanted to eventually build our home in the next couple of years.
For the past weeks, I have been receiving these messages from God:
God wants you to know … that fear won’t get you where you want to go. It’s not easy to head off into uncharted waters, but every journey starts with a first step. Fear will keep you from taking that first step, from untying the boat from the dock. Fear will also keep you from making new discoveries. Don’t let fear keep you tied up, set sail and see what God has planned for you.
God wants you to know … that there are times when a change of direction is for your highest good. It takes courage to change direction. Choose the path your heart agrees with and walk with your head high and your eyes open. Don’t be afraid.
To my surprise, this week, both TGL and I got job offers in our very first choice of place, D.C. We love D.C. but we do not have any close friends and relatives there. However, this makes us discern all the more that maybe we wanted to go to the West Coast but God has different plans. For now, we’re playing it by ear and for whatever is worth, God must have wonderful surprises for us this year, the Year of the water Dragon, the year of change and transformation.
